Underwater 101 with Darren Jew (10 Spots Only) – POSTPONED

Join underwater photographer Darren Jew for Underwater 1.01 a photography workshop designed to provide you with an understanding of the equipment, techniques and creative approaches required to shoot below the surface.
The workshop will be a mix of presentation and hands-on, practical in-water experiences.
Education Session
- Gear
- How light behaves under water
- Available light
- Artificial Light
- Shooting in natural bodies of water
- Shooting in pools
- Working with people underwater
- OH&S considerations
Practical Pool Session (2.5 hours)
A chance to get wet, hands-on with DSLR cameras and underwater housings.
We will have multiple shooting stations including a homage to the classic 1961 image of a young Cassius Clay, shot by the late Flip Schulke.
You’ll be paired with a buddy, and you’ll share an UW kit with them.
Lab Session
To complete the workshop, Darren will demonstrate tips and techniques on post-processing in Adobe Lightroom. (BYO Laptop)
Participants will need to bring:
- Mask and snorkel
- Swim gear|
- Sun Protection / Sunscreen
- Towel
- Water bottle
- Laptop
Loan camera equipment will be provided (one kit between two).
